Run Itura on your own server
Last updated: 13 September 2026 · describes the current on-site build
Itura normally runs in Itura Cloud. For properties that would rather keep everything in the building, we install the same system on a server on your premises — your internet line, your power, your network. This page is for the IT manager or technical adviser asked one question: is this safe, and can we run it ourselves?
What on-site means
After installation, the copy of Itura in your building is the only working copy. Check-in, folios, payments, the till, room status and staff sign-in all happen on your machine. A small set of things stay in Itura Cloud by design: subscription invoices, the link that lets the owner see the property from anywhere, and the public booking page, which passes new bookings to the building as requests.
What keeps working when the internet drops
- Check-in and check-out, folios, receipts and printing
- Payments, cash shifts and drawer counts
- Bar, restaurant, kitchen and room service on the till
- Room and housekeeping status, and staff sign-in
- The night audit — the clock is guarded, so a power cut cannot put wrong dates on folios
While the line is down, outgoing email, public booking confirmation and cloud reporting pause and resume on their own. Staff reach the system at an address the building answers for itself, so the front desk never depends on public DNS. If a security certificate runs out during a long outage, the desk keeps working with a browser warning rather than stopping — and the Itura team is told.
Where your data lives
- Guest records, passport images and condition photos stay in the building.
- Traffic is sealed on the machine itself; the link out carries bytes we cannot read.
- The Itura team cannot sign in to your copy remotely. Support is by phone or on site.
- If the owner ever grants emergency access, it is time-limited, logged, and the owner is told it was used.
- Identity documents expire on the building's schedule, exactly as they do in the cloud.
What the building needs
- A machine that stays on: 4 CPU cores, 8 GB memory, 250 GB disk
- A UPS, so the property comes back on its own after a power cut
- A fixed address on the operations network — separate from guest Wi-Fi
- A second backup destination in a different room: an external drive or a NAS share
Backups and updates
Every night the machine takes an encrypted copy of everything — encrypted because it holds guest documents — and writes it to two places. Installation is not signed off until a restore has been rehearsed and proven. Updates install themselves overnight, only after a clean night audit; anything that changes the database is started by an Itura engineer and run with the property briefly in maintenance. The Itura team can see every property's version at a glance.
Who does what
Itura installs the system during a site visit, moves your existing cloud property across without re-registration, keeps it updated, and supports it. Your IT team provides the machine, the network, the power and the second backup destination. Your team does not install Itura unaided — installation, cutover and handover are done by us, so the property is never left half-moved.
What it costs
On-site is priced case by case, with a one-off setup amount for the visit, the machine and the handover, and a monthly fee agreed with you. There is no published price and nothing to download. To talk it through, write to sales@sabinetworks.com.
